In Manatee County, the funds generated by Children’s Services Dedicated Millage are invested in services and programs supporting the county’s abused, neglected, economically disadvantaged and at-risk children from birth through age 17, as authorized by County Ordinance 91-42. The Children’s Services Advisory Board makes recommendations for investment of the available funds based on the specific human gain it will bring to fruition and how many of our children are doing better as a result. These results-focused investments are tracked and measured in terms of improvement of child well-being indicators such as length of time in foster care, grade level reading, child development, and family management.
